Who is my broker?

Understanding who manages your trading account

Important

The company you created your trading account with is your broker or prop firm.

They provided:

  • Your login credentials

  • Your server

  • Your platform access

  • Your trading account

TradeLocker is only the trading platform and is not your broker or prop firm.

What your broker or prop firm manages

Your broker or prop firm is responsible for:

  • Account balances

  • Deposits and withdrawals

  • Trade execution

  • Open positions

  • Fees and swaps

  • Trading history

  • Margin and leverage

  • Market price feeds

  • Account permissions and restrictions

They also provide the pricing and liquidity used inside TradeLocker.

What TradeLocker does

TradeLocker acts as the technology and trading interface provider.

TradeLocker provides:

  • The trading platform

  • Charting environment

  • Position management tools

  • Trading workflows

TradeLocker does not:

  • Hold funds

  • Execute trades independently

  • Manage balances

  • Control broker-side rules

  • Handle payouts or fees

How to identify your broker or prop firm

The easiest way is to check the original welcome email you received with your login credentials.

The sender of that email is usually your broker or prop firm.

You can also:

  • Check your broker or prop firm dashboard

  • Review your account portal

  • Contact the company directly

Useful to know

If you are unsure who manages your account, TradeLocker support may not be able to identify the broker or prop firm for you because accounts are managed externally.
