Can not close or edit trades

Updated over 3 weeks ago

If the platform is working normally but you’re unable to close a trade or modify stop loss (SL) / take profit (TP), this is typically not a platform concern. It is related to trade execution permissions on the broker or prop firm side.

TradeLocker acts as the interface that sends your request to the trading server. The broker or prop firm controls execution, including whether a trade can be closed or modified. If your request is not going through, it means the trading server is rejecting or not accepting the action.

This can happen for several reasons. The order may already be in a processing state, the position may have been closed or partially closed, or there may be risk rules or restrictions applied to the account. In some cases, trading actions can also be temporarily blocked due to margin conditions or broker-side limitations.

Even though the platform is responsive, it only reflects what is returned by the broker’s server. TradeLocker does not have access to the account backend, has no legal authority over your account or positions and cannot override, force close, or modify trades.

If you are unable to close or edit a trade, the correct step is to contact your broker or prop firm directly. Their support team can check the trade on their server, identify the reason for the restriction, and take action if needed.
